Mission Statement
The Bill Payer Program uses screened and trained volunteers bill payers, supported by staff and cooperating agencies, to assist seniors in their homes with monthly bill paying, budgeting, organizing papers, balancing the check register, and writing checks for the client's signature.
A second group of screened and trained volunteers auditors carefully review acounts every month and reconcile accounts.
This program is affiliated with AARP who developed the CONFIDENTIAL, reliable, and accurate program design that protects clients, volunteers, and the program.
Description
Developed by and operatered in conjuction with AARP, the Bill Payer Program volunteers assist their elderly and/or disabled clients with monthly bill-paying and record-keeping functions such as:
- establishing a budget
- opening, organizing and mailing financial correspondences
- paying monthly bills
- balancing teh check book
This confidential is service is provided in the clients home and allows many Mohawk Valley residence to live indepentently in their own homes.
