Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the dignity, quality of life and physical well-being of seniors from around the world through advocacy, education, access to social services, and cultural enrichment activities that benefit the entire community. We envision an Omaha that values the wisdom and experience of our diverse elders and creates opportunities for them to embrace and enhance their community.

Description

The Intercultural Senior Center provides important programs and services to Omaha's diverse elder population, Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm. Our guests come from 25 countries around the globe, and with the help of staff interpreters, they attend regular classes on basic literacy, ESL, basic computer skills, and U.S. citizen. In addition we also offer group exercise classes, door-to-door transportation, nutritious meals, a foot care clinic, regular blood pressure and diabetes checks, cultural art and dance, a monthly food pantry, and social services to help navigate the many challenges of aging.
