Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Alleycat Acres exists to (re)connect people, place + produce through building a network of community run farms. In other words, we make farms happen.
Food is more than what we eat: it’s a medium through which we can forge intimate, meaningful relationships between people and place. Farming is a medium that reconnects us, both mentally and physically, to our surroundings. Our entire operation is based on the collective belief that urban food systems are key in creating healthy communities.
The Beacon Hill farm is one in a network of 3 community farms right here in Seattle. Our farm is open to anyone who would like to participate, although most of our work is done together on Wednesday evenings and during specified weekend work parties.
Our produce is distributed between our volunteers who worked for the day. When we have a surplus, it is given to the neighborhood food bank. Whenever possible, we transport our tools, goods, and selves by bicycle!
