Mission Statement

To provide traffic direction and control assistance for the police department at accident scenes, fires, or any other situation where normal traffic has been disrupted.

Description

We are seniors who volunteer for the San Diego Police Department. Using department provided vehicles and equipment, we patrol the entire city area on a daily basis. Working as a two-man team, we respond to traffic situations. We also work with the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement department to locate, mark and remove abandoned vehicles. We have a variety of other duties including but not limited to radar surveys, stop sign surveys, stolen and hit and run vehicle recovery, and officer assistance as needed. We are certified traffic directors.
