The mission of MATHCOUNTS is to increase enthusiasm for and enhance achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States.

Description

MATHCOUNTS(r) is a national math enrichment, coaching and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics achievement through grassroots involvement in every U.S. state and territory. With over 22 years experience, MATHCOUNTS is one of the most successful education partnerships involving volunteers, educators, industry sponsors, and students.

Of course the program goal is excellent (encouraging kids to improve their math skills) but also the commitment is bounded -- one LONG morning in February. All the volunteers are great; the kids are amazing. Stay around for the grand finale and see how quickly these kids can complete really hard math problems !! Amazing.
