Mission Statement

The mission of the Texas State Guard (TXSG) is to provide mission-ready military forces to assist state and local authorities in times of state emergencies; to conduct homeland security and community service activities under the umbrella of Defense Support to Civil Authorities; and to augment the Texas Army National Guard and Texas Air National Guard as required.

On order, the 19th Regiment rapidly assembles and deploys mission-ready military forces anywhere within the State of Texas to assist state and local authorities in times of state emergency; to conduct humanitarian assistance, homeland security and Defense Support to Civil Authorities as required.

Description

The 19th Regiment provides emergency support to civil authorities through missions such as mass care shelters, emergency supply distribution, urban search and rescue and emergency communications. The area of operations for the 19th Regiment runs from Dallas north to the Oklahoma line and east to the Arkansas line.
