Mission Statement
The mission of Guardianship Reviews is to comply with the State of Michigan Probate Code and to ensure the safety and welfare of the vulnerable population in our community who are under guardianship with the Midland County Probate Court.
Description
Guardianship cases involving legally incapacitated individuals require review every three years while minor guardianships involving children under age 6 require annual reviews by an independent evaluator. Midland County Probate Court seeks volunteers to perform a well check on these individuals to determine if the environment in which they are living appears to be clean and healthy and that basic needs are being met. Reviews can be scheduledat the convenience of the reviewer and the individual and serve as a physical check on the individual and his/her living arrangement. Each interview may require up to 1 1/2 hours including driving time.
