Mission Statement

The mission of Hunterdon Helpline is to provide a live 7 day a week initial assistance call center that receives and responds to, follows up and documents requests for assistance, provides information, referrals, advocacy and care managment which address the needs within the communities we serve. Hunterdon Helpline also sends volunteers in to Hunterdon County to be literacy instructors to ESL, GED and English Literacy students as well as friendly visitors to visit homebound seniors in Hunterdon County.

Description

Hunterdon Helpline provides Hunterdon County residents a 24/7 hotline that residents can call to find out information and referrals to community programs. We provide employment resources, emergency shelter, suicide prevention, compassionate listening, support for seniors, children, persons with disabilities and basic human needs resources. Hunterdon Helpline also makes telephone reassurance calls to homebound seniors to make sure they are ok, give medication reminders and for conversation. Hunterdon Helpline also sends volunteers into Hunterdon County as literacy instructors to ESL, GED and English Literacy students as well as friendly visitors to visit homebound seniors in Hunterdon County.
