The Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival is a committee-run non-profit festival that promotes fun, family and creativity.
Three times is just as charming and, for duct tape enthusiasts, just as sticky! Back for the third consecutive year, the Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival honors the beloved fix-all known for its million and one uses.
The three-day celebration â beginning Friday, June 16, 2006 â encourages duct tape fanatics, artists, kids and adults to salute the American staple product. The festivities kick-off Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Veteranâ s Memorial Park in Avon, Ohio, and feature everything duct tape â from sculptures and crafts to fashion and games. There is even a parade where all of the floats are made almost entirely of duct tape.
Hosted in the Duct Tape Capital of the world and home of Duck brand duct tape Avon, Ohio the celebration will boast traditional festival favorites, including rides, food, games and live entertainment. As the perfect celebration for Fatherâ s Day weekend, the Avon Heritage Duct Tape Festival not only showcases Dadâ s favorite fix-all, but also includes the crowning of the â Duct Tape Dad of the Yearâ contest winner.
Duct tape celebrities and artists will be on-hand to share their knowledge and talent with attendees â offering festival goers the opportunity to create duct tape crafts, such as roses and wallets, and play duct tape games with professional duct tape sculptor, Todd Scott and duct tape crafter and author, Ellie Schiedermayer.
Henkel Consumer Adhesives, marketer of Duck brand duct tape, will celebrate the sticky stuff with a display of numerous duct tape sculptures created by local artists. In addition, The Duct Tape Guys, nationally known duct tape evangelists and authors of seven books, will perform their comedy act during the weekend. Musical performances and booths from local vendors and organizations will also be on-site.
