Mission Statement

We partner with community organizations working to mitigate poverty-related issues contributing to low-academic achievement with the goal of breaking the cycle of generational poverty in low-income communities through improved academic achievement of children in the neighborhood.

Description

We believe that by transforming schools, we can transform the communities they serve. Therefore, the HNUSR offers programs and services to children in low-income communities that increase their academic achievment. We also have a particular focus on increasing mathematics and science achievement to encourage low-income, urban school children to graduate from high school, pursue post-secondary education in a STEM discipline, graduate and become employed in a STEM field.
