Mission Statement

The Kids Escaping Drugs mission is to raise, manage and distribute funds for the development and support of facilities, education and prevention programs for adolescents and their families in Western New York suffering from alcohol and drug dependency/addiction.

Description

Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services, Inc. (ADDS) (nka. Renaissance Addiction Services, Inc. or RASI) was founded in 1977 to operate inpatient residential and outpatient treatment programs for persons addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Ten years later, the Alcohol and Drug Dependency Services Foundation, (ADDSF) now known as Kids Escaping Drugs, was created with the sole purpose to raise funds for the creation and support of adolescent treatment facilities. The need for these facilities has been strongly supported by local and state legislators. The foundation is governed by a volunteer board of directors and pursues charitable gifts from foundations, individuals and corporations. Year round fundraising activities culminate with the annual Kids Escaping Drugs Telethon on WGRZ-TV, Channel 2, an original partner and continuing sponsor of the Campaign.

The Renaissance Campus consists of 3 facilities (62-patient beds), treating adolescents ages 12-20 from the eight counties of WNY. To date, over a thousand adolescents have been treated on the Renaissance Campus, which serves as a model to all communities that rehabilitate chemically dependent adolescents.
