Description

The Greater Hartford Jaycees organize projects throughout the year that promote leadership development as well as services benefiting various aspects of the community: Playscape, funding and building a playscape for a school, park or an organization; Project Harvest, a project that takes place the weekend prior to Thanksgiving, in which 1,000 turkey dinners complete with the fixings are donated to less fortunate Hartford area residents and local food pantries,

GHJC projects are also designed for individual development, such as "Art of Investing," where Members learn to managing their money and to invest wisely. Membership in the Jaycees isn't all work - the Chapter routinely gathers for happy hours, sporting events and dinner at area restaurants. These are just a few of the many events and services offered by the GHJCs to promote growth and leadership.

Jaycee leaders can be found in all walks of life from governmental leaders such as former Presidents Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford, business tycoon and founder of Domino's Pizza Tom Monaghan, former Miss America Kaye Lani Rae Rafko-Wilson, and sports heroes like basketball great Larry Bird.
