Mission Statement

Our mission is to offer inclusive, innovative approaches to resolve conflict and achieve positive outcomes for children, families, and the community. We provide an array of services including skill building, conflict resolution and child advocacy through the use of carefully trained volunteers.

Description

Mediation

Specialized mediation programs, through which a neutral third party (the mediator) helps people in conflict create their own solutions and communicate towards a mutually beneficial resolution.

Arbitration

A method of dispute resolution where a neutral third party (the arbitrator) is empowered to determine the settlement of the issue. Their decision is final and binding on the parties, and is enforceable in a court of law.

Advocacy

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) provide a voice for abused and neglected children involved in the court system in Oneida and Herkimer counties. Volunteers collect all the facts, and present a report to the Family Court Judges recommending what is in the best interest of the children regarding placement into a safe and permanent home.

Child Custody Advocates assist the Oneida County Family Court in deciding what is best for children involved in custody and visitation disputes

Adventure Programs

Hands on way to build teamwork, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Programs are available for all ages and abilities. Adventures have been used as corporate retreats, business teams, fun parties, birthdays, family field trips, therapeutic groups, and youth and community groups. Programs are designed for:
- Corporate Team Building & Conflict Resolution
- Delinquency Prevention
- Youth Violence Intervention
- Summer/After School Therapeutic Recreation
