Mission Statement
The mission of the New York Museum of Transportation is to collect, preserve, display, interpret, and operate artifacts and information from the transportation history of Upstate New York and surrounding area, to delight, inform and educate our visitors about their transportation heritage.
Description
The museum contains trolley cars, a steam locomotive, motorized and horse-drawn vehicles, a model railroad, gallery and numerous exhibits of small artifacts and photographs. Open Sundays only, year round, as well during the week for groups by appointment. The museum archived contains thousands of photos and other items, available for research. The museum operates the only electric trolley ride in New York State on a 2-mile round trip through scenic open country. Summer visits include ride and admission to the Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum.
