WHF is the only Non Governmental Organization that designs and implements demonstration projects for the prevention of heart disease. Programs include Women's Heart Week Feb 1-7 with free heart risk screenings, Teen Esteem Health and Fitness - an alternative gym class for adolescent girls, and Medication Safety - a program especially geared for seniors. www.WomensHeart.org has 140 pages of wellness information. Ask the Nurse is an online service staffed by an R.N. to answer emailed concerns about women's heart disease. WHF conducts seminars for medical professional as part of its Gender Care Initiative and organizes an annual RUN FOR YOUR HEART to raise funds and awareness, in commemoration of National Women's Health Week.
