Mission Statement

Hiring Our Heroes is a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation that aims to help U.S. military veterans and spouses find meaningful employment.


Hiring Our Heroes, a program of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, was launched in March 2011 as a nationwide initiative to help veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. Working with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s vast network of state and local chambers and other strategic partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors, our goal is to create a movement across America in hundreds of communities where veterans and military families return every day. Hiring Our Heroes has hosted more than 430 hiring fairs in all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia. Through December 31, 2012, more than 18,400 veterans and military spouses had obtained jobs.

From an organizational stand point: my contacts @ both Hiring our Heroes and Markham Group were very available and responsive. The event was organized and I was given clear instruction upon arrival of how to be helpful! From a personal perspective: This is an awesome event to assist people that have given their time to serve their country. This is a truly worthwhile event. I was able to help during my workday lunch hour 12-2, I helped with the registration/check in area.

It was a wonderful event that helped veterans review their resumes and learn important job application and interviewing skills. I had a lot of fun helping this excellent group of people!
