Mission

For 25 years Family Pride has been the only national non-profit organization solely dedicated to equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) parents and their families. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., Family Pride supports nearly 200 membership-based LGBT parenting groups nationwide with a base of 35,000 supporters.

Strategic Objectives

Family Pride focuses its work in three primary areas:

Advocacy
  • Influence and support laws establishing our ability to create and protect our families
  • Create a positive educational environment for our children
  • Seek positive workplace policies that protect our families
Education
  • Educate the public about our families
  • Educate our families about issues important to them
Support
  • Help parents and families come together to share information and provide social support to one another
  • Help parents gain access to necessary resources about our issues
