Mission Statement
The urgent mission of The Foundation Fighting Blindness, Inc. (FFB) is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by retinitis pigmentosa (RP), macular degeneration, Usher Syndrome, and the entire spectrum of retinal degenerative diseases.
Description
Over ten million Americans of every age and race suffer vision loss from blinding diseases.
The Foundation funds cutting-edge research in promising areas such as genetics, gene therapy, retinal cell transplantation, artificial retinal implants, and pharmaceutical and nutritional therapies.
FFB is ranked as a "Top-Rated" charity by the American Institute of Philanthropy. The Foundation Fighting Blindness was named one of Worth Magazine's "100 Best Charities."
