Mission Statement

To provide opportunities through community based therapeutic recreation programs for citizens with disabilities to develop physical, social and leisure skills necessary to participate in a continuum of activities which will enhance their well-being.

Description

The Adaptive Recreation program provides a variety of year-round therapeutic recreation activities to individuals with physical, developmental and mental disabilities. Our services include: Specially Designed Programs which are created and adapted for a specific disability group (example: Wheelchair Tennis), TRAC (Transition to Recreational Activities in the Community), a program designed to integrate disabled individuals into already existing recreational programs and 14 year-round, competitive Special Olympics sports programs for developmentally disabled individuals.
