KidSMILES Pediatric Dental Clinic

Description

The KidSMILES Pediatric Dental Clinic is located at 770 Bethel Road in Columbus and provides a variety of dental services to children ages eighteen and younger at a cost of only $10 per visit.

KidSMILES aims to serve children from working families who earn too much to qualify for Medicaid but do not have private dental insurance. Therefore, KidSMILES families must have a household income of less than 250% of the Federal Poverty Level--$57,625 for a family of four. (See chart for details.)

Staffed by volunteer dentists, hygienists and dental professionals, the clinic focuses on providing services such as disease removal and prevention.

KidSMILES also has an educational outreach program that goes into elementary schools and preschools and shares information about good dental hygienes. Volunteers give brief presentations and hand out dental take-away bags to each child.
