Description

Math/Science/Technology (MST) Magnet Elementary School here in Richardson, TX is a Title 1 school with a broad range of diversity. Every year, the MST PTA hosts a Fall Carnival that is open to the entire community. We advertise the Carnival at our nearby elementary schools, through Neighborhood and Homeowners Associations and through various websites, such as, Neighbors Go. The goal of our Carnival is to not only raise money for various initiatives that are needed through MST, but also to encourage a sense of community. Last year we raised $2,500 in profit that was used to help fund the entire 5th grade class trip to Sky Ranch - we were able to send students that previously would not have been able to have afforded such a once in a lifetime trip!

As this event has grown year over year, it has become more important than ever to recruit the appropriate number of volunteers needed to make this event the success it has become. While we do have a good volunteer response from the teachers, parents, and even Junior High and High School students, we still tend to fall somewhat short of the numbers we need.
