Mission Statement

The David Adler Cultural Center is dedicated to promtong the cultural arts an integral part of everyday life. Its year-round activites are designed to foster critical thinking and interpretation, participation, entertainment and achievement in the arts for the people of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. The Cultural Center maintains and interperts the historic home of architect David Adler that is the base of its activities and a visual image of the harmony between art and daily life.

Description

The focus of the Center's programming is the presentation of art and artistic activity, which is an integral part of everyday life. In such, the Center seeks to reflect an interdisciplinary perspective that is diverse, yet balanced in content and artistic media. Progammimg seeks to be accessible to individuals of all ages, backgrounds and interests,providing opportunites for in-depth participaiton and appreciation of the arts. To that end, the Adler Center offers opportunites for children and adults to participate in individual and group music classes, art classes and architecture classes. A mutidisciplilnary arts camp is offered for six weeks during the summer. Festival of the Arts occurs every August giving artists an opportunity to sell their work and offering area community groups a venue to perform.
