Add embraces innovation to improve the quality of life, one person at a time.
Community Connections is a daytime recreation program for adults with developmental disabilities, located in the four sheltered workshops operated by the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. The goal is to provide participants the opportunity to be involved in meaningful activities that help to develop friendships, promote self-esteem, and create an opportunity for learning.
Small groups go into the community from each of the workshop locations to enjoy activities that encourage community inclusion. Past and current participants have enjoyed activities such as Irish dancing, ice skating, martial arts, pottery, theater production, hand-bell choir, belly dancing, volunteering, nature studies, outdoor adventures, gallery hops, and much more.
