Mission Statement

Centre Helpsis a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization that provides services, resources, education, training, and information to people who are in need of support and to people who are seeking volunteer opportunities in our community. With a drop-in center and 24-hour hotline as our foundation, we work to coordinate and deliver human services throughout Centre County.

Description

Centre Helps has served the Centre County community since 1971. Our original mission was to provide alcohol and other drug intervention, information, and education. Over the years, our services have expanded to include emotional support, crisis and basic needs intervention, referral and transfer to community resources, and suicide intervention.

When working with clients, we use an educational model through which we provide unbiased, non-judgmental support and education by validating feelings and positively reinforcing self-knowledge and interpersonal skills.
