Mission Statement

Child Advocates engages community volunteers and staff to protect children who are victims of child abuse. We are their voices in court, ensuring all children thrive in a safe and secure home.

Description

Child Advocates is the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) chosen by the courts in Marion County (Indianapolis), Indiana to represent the best interests of abused and neglected children. We fulfill our mission through advocacy, monitoring, evaluation, fact-finding and mediation. Our volunteers assist staff professionals in each child’s case to make sure those children do not get lost in the system, their needs are met during the course of their court cases, and a safe, permanent home is found for them as soon as possible. Our volunteers help ensure that the over 8,000 children whose cases we monitor each year are not returned to the very situations where the mistreatment occurred. We continue to work with the children until they are placed in a safe & secure home and the abuse/neglect case is closed.

Child Advocates is a 501 (c) (3) agency and is certified by the National CASA Association and the Indiana State Office of GAL/CASA. We are a United Way of Central Indiana agency.
