Mission Statement

Lorain County Habitat for Humanity is seeking to put God's love into action by bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Description

Lorain County Habitat for Humanity builds decent, affordable houses for partner families that otherwise could not own their own homes. We do this by relying on volunteer labor, donated land and materials, and money generated by operating our ReStore. The ReStore sells donated materials to the public for a fraction of retail cost, makes DIY supplies available and affordable to anyone, keeps thousands of pounds of material out of the landfills, and provides rewarding volunteer/community service opportunities. All ReStore profits go towards HFH construction in Lorain County. Join us!

I have been volunteering at the ReStore in Lorain which accepts donations of materials, supplies, appliances, and a huge variety of items, to be recycled, restored, and resold. The revenue generated is then used to fund our building projects. It has been an uplifting experience to work with other volunteers to organize and maintain the ReStore's inventory. I really feel like I am making a difference in so many others lives.
