Description
For the past 5 years The Salvation Army Hancock County has been providing emergency assistance for utilities, medicine, food, rent and transportation to families in Hancock County. The local Red Kettle drive at Christmas time provides the funds for this outreach. The Unit Advisory Council that oversees the Hancock County operations is planning to expand its services. Currently Hancock County would be dependent upon other Salvation Army units in case of a large scale disaster. The Hancock County Advisory Council would like to be able to provide emergency food and shelter locally if this should occur. This effort would mean expanding participation on the Unit Advisory Council.
