The goal of Life Goes On-Home Improvement, Inc. is to help individuals with various disabilities improve their home environments to maximize accessibility, independence, safety, and social interaction. Our goals are to reach out to local rehab facilities and organizations in order to schedule informational meetings and project workshops to educate/identify potential clients and viable construction projects. We will identify and retain a professional design team including a Occupational Therapist and a certified architect/designer to develop an accessibility plan for each project. Identify multiple funding resources and options and will facilitate the appropriate application process for each client/project. Also, to help select the project contractor, and will manage the construction process from permits to completion. There are hundreds of individuals in Fresno County with disabilities from birth defects, injuries, or even the aging process, living lives of dependence, frustration, and isolation, primarily because of the design and/or condition of their homes. There are many others who are confined to costly rehab centers because their own homes cannot accommodate their disability needs.
