Mission Statement

Raining Cats 'n' Dogs is an animal rescue organization dedicated to reducing overpopulation and needless euthanasia of companion animals by spaying/neutering and finding permanent, responsible homes for those animals. In order to achieve this goal, Raining Cats 'n' Dogs is committed to forming cooperative relationships with other animal rescue groups, shelters and veterinarians. Through these activities, Raining Cats 'n' Dogs plans to educate the community about animal welfare issues and perpetuate the human/animal bond.

Description

Raining Cats 'n' Dogs works with local shelters and private individuals to find homes for animals that might otherwise be euthanized. Our foster program is currently very small, though we would like to see it grow. Even more importantly, we would like to initiate or take part in community outreach to educate pet owners about spay/neutering and responsible pet ownership. All of the animals we foster are spay/neutered, and we provide adoption packets to adopters with important information about pet ownership. Raining Cats 'n' Dogs is part of Pro Plan's Rally to Rescue program, which assists small, grassroots rescue groups in their endeavors. Our dreams include: a sanctuary, an adoption center, a community spay/neuter program, a community microchip program, classroom education program, animal assisted therapy, and a no-kill community.
