Mission Statement
The Ritz Theatre Company offers challenging and diverse professional productions and equality on-stage training which nurtures aspiring actors at every level. Housed in an historic theatre building, the Ritz is a creative partnership of theatrical artists and audiences; outreach programs use the power of live theatre to educate and inform residents of the Delaware Valley.
Description
As a year-round arts center, The Ritz welcomes 68,000 people annually. We pride ourselves as an organization that is both responsive to specific community needs while providing an avenue of artistic expression and apprenticeship opportunities for New Jersey based artists. Many of these artists have gone on to perform with major resident theatres in New York and London, making the impact of The Ritz felt nationally and internationally within the theatre world.
The Ritz was founded in 1986, and since that time more than one million people have enjoyed theatre-related activities in the 466-seat theatre. The Ritz has dedicated its commitment to South Jersey with the purchase of this historic 1927 Vaudeville theatre building, which we are proud to announce is on both the New Jersey and National Register of Historic Places.
