Mission Statement
Camerata San Antonio is the premier professional chamber music ensemble in San Antonio and the growing Texas Hill Country. Dedicated to presenting chamber music of the highest caliber to our many and diverse classical music-loving audiences, we are equally committed to providing educational concerts and musical enrichments to San Antonio's public school students, in order to nurture and cultivate the audiences of tomorrow.
Description
Established in 2003 by San Antonio Symphony Principal Cellist Kenneth E. Freudigman and Assistant Principal Violist Emily Watkins, Camerata has grown over its first three seasons into an exciting artistic venue for local and visiting musicians, and a valued musical resource for audiences - including our school-based audiences. Reviewers have been consistent in their high praise. Our performance of Schubert's String Quintet, for example, was called "Best of Classical 2004" by the SA Express-News. Students, teachers and parents alike have been enthusiastic responders to our school-based educational programs.
