The vision of the Statewide Parent Advocacy Network is that all families in New Jersey will have the resources and support they need to ensure that their children become fully participating and contributing members of our communities and society.
Our foremost commitment is to children and families with the greatest need due to disability; poverty; discrimination based on race, sex, language, immigrant or homeless status; involvement in the foster care, child welfare, or juvenile justice systems; geographic location; or other special circumstances.
SPAN is a statewide organization that provides information, training, technical assistance, leadership development, parent-to-parent support, and advocacy for families of children age birth to 21 on education, health and human services issues that affect their children. SPAN operates a statewide warm-line, 800-654-SPAN, to provide information and technical assistance to families and professionals; matches families with other families for emotional support and information on resources; conducts parent and professional workshops around the state; and engages in public policy advocacy. We have 50 full- and part-time staff located throughout NJ.
