Lifeline Connections is seeking licensed cosmetologists interested in volunteering 6-8 hours a month to assist patients in our residential unit. Our patients are committed to overcoming addiction and often need a fresh haircut. They typically stay in the inpatient program for 21-45 days, so there is always someone in need of a haircut! Approximately 60% of our clients are low-income and lack access to regular haircut services. The schedule is highly flexible and can be tailored to fit your availability, including nights and weekends. Volunteers will need to pass a background check and participate in our orientation process, which covers HIPAA regulations and the strict confidentiality laws of CFR 42, designed to protect individuals involved in drug and alcohol treatment. Addiction is a chronic disease that requires ongoing treatment. Our clients work diligently every day to learn how to manage their addiction and rebuild their lives.
