Mission Statement

The University District Youth Center provides homeless, at-risk, runaway, and/or street involved youth between the ages of 13-22 the opportunity, tools, and support in transitioning to better living while creating a safe, nurturing environment that values and respects the cultural diversity of the youth we serve.

Description

UDYC is a Seattle service provider that works to empower homeless, at-risk, and street involved youth. The Drop-in program offers basic services such as lunch, clothing, and showers in addition to more interactive services such as: case management, drug & alcohol counseling, mental health services, GED & diploma program and job training. Every Monday thru Thursday afternoons, the UDYC Drop-in is open for youth to access the above services. During this time we rely heavily on volunteers not only to help provide basic services, but to "hang out" & build relationships with the youth, creating a safe and welcoming environment for all. Your time as a volunteer can be spent in a card game, a movie, or an engaging conversation.
