Mission Statement
ROLDA is a non-profit organization (CUI: 18416340) based in Galati, Romania providing short and long term humane solutions to the homeless dogs population, exposed to abuses, hunger and often, a cruel death..
We transform rescued dogs (sometimes very scared or shy) into safe pets for the right people-companions.
With us, a dog stops subsisting and starts living!

Description
"Eastern Europe badly needs pro-animal organizations that go beyond merely housing and sometimes exporting huge numbers of dogs, and demonstrate a sustained commitment to showing their communities how dogs (and other animals) deserve to be treated. A person who visits ROLDA will see how dogs ought to be treated. ROLDA teaches the community, and is really the only shelter I saw in eastern Europe that focuses on elevating standards, to change attitudes."

Ongoing strategyThe ongoing strategy refers to ROLDA day-by-day activities which we are doing steady and responsibly but in the same time, we are aiming to improve by learning from others’ experience, partner with like-minded people or institutions.
Some of the day-by day activities are: rescue dogs in need, provide sheltering and vet care, sterilizations, rehabilitation, training our staff, organizing education events, recruiting volunteers.
Short-term objectivesWhile it requires time, patience and funding, these are ROLDA short-term priorities based on the impact they have on our day-by-day activities:
We must raise funds immediately for a large van to transport dogs to and donated supplies from across Europe. Repair the 4 paddocks is vital for the dogs’ comfort. Repair the containers used for staff rest room and storage area where dogs food shall be protected against rats is also a must do.
Due to the increasing requests to save more dogs from the industrial sites, from people who want to abandon them, also increased requests for sterilizations, we must expand. This means growing our network but also means an increased amount of funds needed, hiring more people to keep a high quality of the job done, more resources and logistics but also more responsibility for the lives we save.
