MISSION : To involved and connect San José Youth and advise city government on youth related issues

Vision: All San Jose Youth have an empowered and influential voice through civic engagement

Description

The San Jose Youth Commission is a body of eleven youth between the age of 14-20. Modeled after the City Council, the Youth Commission is recognized as the official youth advisory group to the City Council and the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services.

Each year, in an effort to empower youth across San Jose, The San Jose Youth Commission hosts a citywide Youth Conference. Now in its sixth year, the 2013 conference, entitled, "Dream it, Live It, aims to inform, inspire and empower youth to become the next generation of entrepreneurs.
