Description
LEAD Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization. We provide financial assistance for minority high school seniors entering their freshman year in college.
The scholarship foundation was founded in 2002 by employees of Merck & Co., Inc. under the name BEN Scholarship Foundation. In April 2005, the foundation received its 501c3 not-for-profit status. In 2011, we changed our name to LEAD Scholarship Foundation.
The scholarships awarded are funded entirely from personal and private contributions. To date, we have awarded over $120,000 to 41 scholars. The work of the LEAD Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is all performed by volunteers and donors who work diligently to help provide scholarship opportunities to African American students.
