Description

A Hospice volunteer is a special part of the hospice team. They are people who wish to make a difference in the lives of the terminally ill or those who are grieving by giving their time to assist a patient or family memeber.

Volunteer training:

New hospice volunteers participate in free training that provides information regarding the hospice philosophy of care,volunteer roles, communication skills, the psychosocial and spirtual aspects of death, and the interdisciplinary approach to hospice care. On average,hospice volunteers give 4-8 hours per month.
