Mission Statement

The mission of the Decatur Preservation Alliance is to connect our communities through the preservation of Decatur's historic structures and greenspaces.

Description

DPA is a nonprofit citizens' group formed in 2000 to save the historic Decatur train depot. Over the years, the vision has expanded to include greenspace conservation, historic districting advocacy and education, and community preservation. DPA sponsors an annual home repair program for senior citizens, has oversight of the historic section of Decatur Cemetery, and provides native plant restoration gardening for its seven-acre property, Woodlands Garden.
