Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Friends and Advocates for Mental Health (FAMH) is the Sullivan County affiliate of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI). Primarily a family support and advocacy organization, FAMH strives to expand opportunities and improve the quality of life for all people with mental illness. FAMH provides mutual support fo families and social, recreational and educational opportunities for consumers of mental health services. We also strive through public education to eradicate the stigma associated with mental illness.
Compeer (companion/peer) is a nationwide program that recruits volunteers from the community to form one-to-one friendships with people recovering from mental illness.
Caring men and women are needed to volunteer for the Compeer program of Friends and Advocates for Mental Health. Volunteers are matched based on mutual interests and background in one-to-one friendships with people recovering from serious mental illness.
