Mission Statement

SIDAF INC Sarasota International dance Fesival Inc. is a young highly profiled and succesful dance organization, in both performance and education.

Mission - To present performances with world-stage artists, to create an annual Intensive dance course for pre-professional dancers, through scholarships and subscriptions. To promot community oriented presentations for the development of dance interest and performance.

Description

With a small but passionate Board of Trustees, Sidaf Inc. Presents the Carenno Dance Festival annually in August. Young dancers flock to Sarasota to participate, after being accepted through national auditions. Jose Manuel Carreno, the international super star formerly with American Ballet Theatre, is the Artistic Director. He is co-founder with Robert de Warren veteran international director/choreographer, well known for his over 13 years directing Sarasota Ballet, before retirement.

His international carrer included directorship in England Northern Ballet Theatre, la Scala Milan Ballet and his alma mater is The Royal Ballet in London.

This program brings the highest international faculty to Sarasota to coach the most promising young artists. Yuri Fateev, director Mariinsky Ballet in Russia, Loipa Araujo, assistant director English National Ballet, Julie kent, prima ballerina American Ballet Theatre, and more. The course culminates in an exciting Gala with famous guest artists performing with tomorrow' stars.
