Mission Statement

To improve the financial lives of low-wealth individuals. Our vision is to have a day when all individuals have the knowledge and assets to escape poverty and pursue financial independence.

Description

In pursuit of the vision of financial independence for all, Asset Builders utilizes Individual Development Accounts (IDAs). Program participants commit to save at least $25 a month, and through the IDA matched money program they earn at least $1 for every $1 they save. In addition, participants attend financial literacy courses that develops skills necessary to make informed decisions regarding savings, spending and borrowing. With the money saved, at the end of the program the participant can invest in one of three assets - a home, a post-secondary degree or a small business.
