Mission: Building hope for children and families through education, counseling and intervention programs to Stop Child Abuse Now.Child Abuse Prevention became the National Project of Exchange Clubs in 1979. Since that time, Exchange Clubs across the nation have become involved in child abuse prevention efforts in a variety of ways. Some of their many projects include establishing Exchange Club Child Abuse Prevention Centers and supporting affiliate programs.
In 1987 Volunteers from our local Exchange Clubs came together to setup the Exchange Center of Iredell County.

Mission: Building hope for children and families through education, counseling and intervention programs to Stop Child Abuse Now.
SCAN offers training to civic organizations, healthcare and daycare providers, and other concerned groups on identification and handling of child abuse and neglect.
Classes covering child management, communication, child development, stress
management, self-esteem issues, sexual abuse prevention, and infant care. The classes typically meet once a week for seven to twelve sessions, There can be a fee to help defray administrative costs.
Parent Aide Program
A home visitation program in which Volunteer Parent Aides make home visits to families struggling with discipline or other parenting issues, The Parent Aide fosters change in parenting behavior, helps with problem solving, encourages access to community services, and improves parent child interaction.
Individuals are trained to become SCAN Parent Aides through a 12-hour training program, Training is usually held on a Saturday with two follow-up sessions held on Monday nights.
