Mission Statement
Established in 1853, we are Seattle's oldest congregation. Our historic connection to Seattle calls us to carry out a unique ministry to the city's homeless and hungry, including housing a 60-bed shelter for homeless men and our weekly Shared Breakfast, feeding over 250 hungry people.
We are an open and affirming community where all people are welcome regardless of race, class, economic background, or sexual orientation.
Description
Our work as a congregation revolves around three activities: Love, Grow, Serve. We equip and empower members to Love God, Grow in Faith and Serve the World.
Shared Breakfast is a beloved tradition at First Church; past numbers have swelled above 500 people fed. Join us every Sunday as we share food and fellowship with those who are hungry.
"I love knowing we are making the week a little better for people going through a rough time." - Sonya, Shared Breakfast Volunteer
