Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
We, as volunteer have joined together in a joint mission to spare animals from the suffering and the hardships of being unwanted and/or homeless in the streets, parking lots & dumpsters in our community.
Our organization was formed in late August, 2005 initially to try to reduce the amount of homeless pets; & the animals that are adoptable at our city shelter where so many are destroyed without being given a chance.
Before we could even get the building kit for our no-kill shelter for animals put together, we set up several shelters for Hurricane Katrina, and then Hurricane Rita for Pets with People(Evacuees) in buildings here in our area. We now have animals that the evacuees relinquished to us along with the ones we went down to rescue at a holding shed where many hundreds of animals had just been taken out of the flood waters of New Orleans and surrounding areas. We have undergone the costs of their many vet bills, and now they are being spayed, neutered & going through the Heartworm treatment. We are checking out the possible adopters for these animals very carefully as these animals need plenty of TLC because they have gone though so much trauma physically and emotionally.
Eventually we will be able to follow through on helping out in our community, but right now we have to provide for these we have & possibly more as they arrive from the Hurricane tragedy.
