What is CEMI?
CEMI is the "CEMI Electonic Media Institute." Our current home is at the Artisan's Asylum (A2), a haven for makers and fabricators located in Somerville, Massachusetts. CEMI members are dedicated to exploring novelty in the electronic arts through music, visualizations, interactivity, and hardware hacking. At A2, we've stashed a treasure trove of equipment, and have access to the collaborative environment of the workspaces, shops and tools, but our true domain is the computer lab/ events room. Join our meetup group for updates on our monthly labs, c ome check out one of our numerous events - they're open to the public!
Who we are
We are artists, musicians, designers, and engineers that create and enhance the electronic arts culture of Greater Boston. CEMI members are all ages, colors, shapes, and sizes, each with their own skillset and imagination. CEMI is people making cool electronic and digital stuff, get to know us! CEMI is you!
Join CEMI!
CEMI is a volunteer-run organization and we are able to pay for our awesome space at A2 through memberships and class offerings. If you want to teach a class, read our Teacher FAQ . Through our institutional partnership with A2 we offer CEMI members acces to the facilities at Artisan's Asylum for a ridiculously low monthly fee, as well access to our high-tech inventory, studio space, and expertise.
