The Alexandria Association is the city?s oldest and largest charitable group dedicated to the decorative arts and historic preservation. Proceeds from the Show will augment the Association?s Endowment Fund, which is used to support a variety of research, conservation, and other projects for Alexandria?s historical properties.
The Athenaeum - The Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association is the handsome Greek Revival Building at the corner of Prince and Lee Streets in Old Town Alexandria. Built in 1852, it is the home of the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Association that provides area residents with a wide range of cultural activities, including the Alexandria Ballet, art exhibits, ballet classes, performances, lectures, and children's programs. NFVAA will use the proceeds from the Antique Show for restoration and maintenance of The Athenaum
The Lyceum Company is an organization of volunteers devoted to supporting The Lyceum, Alexandria's History Museum. The company raises funds to purchase objects with an Alexandria provenance for the museum's collection, and sponsors various educational and cultural activities at the museum. Lyceum website
The TWIG, chartered in 1933, has donated over $1.5 million to Inova Alexandria Hospital, primarily from funds raised through itsTwig Thrift Shop located in Old Town Alexandria. Each September, The TWIG hosts its Annual Historic Homes Tour to also raise funds. Proceeds from this year's show are pledged for the Twig Pavilion, a 16 single-room telemetry unit that provides short-stay care for patients who need assistance for less than 48 hours.
