Drivers needed in Clark County. Our drivers choose the trips they are able to take and make a significant difference in the lives of seniors and those with a disability. We help people stay connected with their community. It might be a trip to a doctor appointment, doing their grocery shopping, going to an appointment, visiting friends or something else. Wherever the destination, it is a way to prevent isolation, to be part of society, and to get where they need to go. The Transportation Security Administrator/TSA has extended the security directive requiring masks on public transportation conveyances and in public transportation hubs through April 18, 2022. We at Community in Motion will continue to follow federal mandates for mask wearing on our vehicles and in our volunteer drivers vehicles. This means that all drivers and passengers must wear a mask until April 18, 2022. We help others get to necessary appointments, attend social events, grocery shop and participate in outings that help with their physical and emotional health. Have a desire to help others and provide excellent customer service At least 21 years of age Have registered vehicle in good condition Possess a valid driver’s license Complete a volunteer application Maintain state insurance levels at state required minimums or greater. Provide Volunteers in Motion with Department of Motor (DMV) 5-year Driving Abstract Complete and pass a background check which includes a Washington State Patrol WATCH Report, an FBI fingerprint background check, and search of the National Sex Offender Registry website. Volunteers in Motion will cover the cost involved. Review, agree to and sign self-declaration form indicating the ability to physically carry out the essential job functions as listed in the volunteer job description. Willingness to provide transportation to passengers without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, marital status, age, health status, or the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability. Agree to a once a year ride along as a part of a yearly review and eligibility to be in the program.
