Mission Statement

The mission of the Kankakee Community College ALIVE Literacy and Baby Talk Program is to stress the importance of literacy within the community and to, therefore, encourage lifelong learning. Program services include tutoring for adults and early literacy education enrichment for newborns.

The Community Literacy Project provides educational instruction for adults who need help with their basic reading, writing, computation and English skills. Tutoring sessions and materials are provided at no cost to the student. The Community Literacy Project seeks to empower adults, as individual learners, to gain the confidence and self esteem needed to continue on the path towards economic and social success through education.

Great opportunity to help those in the community work towards attaining their G.E.D.. You are provided with training, and make up your own schedule. Very rewarding
Engage your employees, consumers, or students! VolunteerMatch provides the tools that make community involvement easy.
