MISSION STATEMENT
Volunteering India is a non-profit, non-government organization which aims at all round development of rural India through the best use of natural resources and whole-hearted effort of volunteers from all round the globe. The organization is located at Rajasthan in India. Volunteering India educates and motivates rural population about various aspects relating to environment, social welfare, health, moral values, reformation of misled youth etc. This helps them analyze the root causes of their poverty and encourages them to work towards a sustained improvement in the quality of their lives. Further, Volunteering India promotes cultural exchange activities for enthusiastic tourists who want to have an in-depth experience of Indian culture and tradition. The organization provides training programs to volunteers to mingle with rural people and to work for them. This will give volunteers a more meaningful experience of Indian culture than is possible for a normal tourist and leaves with an experience memorable for a life time.

Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
The volunteers are expected to work with local NGOs in rural areas of Rajasthan. Before your actual contribution as a Volunteer, you would be given a brief knowledge and training about the language, culture and lifestyle of rural India. During your work you would stay with a local host family in the village and participate in several community development activities. Teaching English and math to children, motivating rural people in environmental issues, educating them in issues relating to health and sanitation would be of major importance. Recently completed projects include planting, bee-keeping, organic farming, compost bins, health seminars and distribution of jute shopping bags to discourage usage of plastic bags. Volunteers, when required, would have access to Indian interpreters and assist them. The volunteers would mingle with local families to motivate them in several socio-economic and environmental activities.
